What is Refer?

Refer helps brands and creators make instantly shoppable videos about their products.

We’re currently in closed beta period, which means we’re working with a select group of brands on Refer prior to our full public launch.

I sell products online. How can Refer help me?

Refer is an easy, risk-free way to drive more sales through content-forward video storefronts.

  1. First, connect Refer to your Shopify store. It only takes a few clicks. See these instructions for more information:

How to connect your Shopify store to Refer

  2. Download the Refer iOS app and create shoppable videos about your products. You can also invite creators to make videos about your products if you wish, and you can choose what commission rate each creator receives for sales that their videos generate. See this page for more information:

    Creating your first Refer video

  3. Share your Refer videos via Instagram, TikTok, text message, email, or anywhere else your customers are.

  4. Customers view your content and check out directly in Refer. Orders appear in your Shopify for you to fulfill, the same way you do for your existing Shopify orders.

I’m a creator. How can I earn money with Refer?

During the beta period, only invited creators are able to make content. If you’re interested in earning money with Refer videos as a creator, send us an email at [email protected].

Once you’re invited by a brand, all you need to get started is an iPhone. Download the Refer app, record a video, and tag the products you’re talking about in your video. Refer will generate a shoppable video storefront, which you can share with your followers, and you’ll be eligible to receive commissions from the brand for sales made through your Refer content.

How is Refer different than other creator marketing strategies?

In many purchase scenarios, short form video converts significantly better than static web pages. Our early data shows greatly improved return on ad spend compared to traditional marketing approaches.
